The French language works like a second skin to the French. When they speak it they feel more in touch with their identity, it is who they are as a people. It is how they express themselves and their culture to the world. We would like to tell you of what I know about French culture by speaking in English, but our words will fall short. For that reason alone, you must come and experience the culture for yourself!

France is a country rich in culture and has a unique heritage that encompasses everything from the majestic mountains of the Alps to traditional French cuisine. The French are also known for their love of sports as well as their ability to create some incredible pieces of art. These traits reflect France’s diverse range of customs which can be seen throughout history.

French traditions are important to the culture, especially since France is one of the most visited countries in the world. Some of these traditions are about the food, art, architecture, and history of French culture. Customs may vary from region to region, but there are still many cultural traits that unite the people of France.

In France, there are three main holidays that are recognized by the entire nation: Provencal’s Fete de Cuites, La Petanque, and Le Quatorze Juillet. These French traditions are held in high regard and are celebrated every year throughout the country. Provencal’s Fete de Cuites is a street festival wherein the people of France throw an enormous feast to honor their patron saint. Then there are La Petanque and Le Quatorze Juillet, two sporting events that are held every year. The French have an impressive array of traditions that are celebrated throughout the country. The question remains: which of these events is the most significant to the French people?

While attending the language school for French studies, we started to think about why the language of love is a mandatory class for all students who want to learn French and know more about France. The theater is a wonderful place to go and be quickly introduced to five or six new words, with one sentence nailing me down on our ears every time we leave the theater. Certainly, there are other ways to learn if you are not big on sports, yet alone taking classes in France. For example, when attending an art gallery it’s easy to pick up a few dirty words among the masterpieces that you have no idea what they mean (The lesson is still here and you can learn a lot by opening up your ears).

The No. 1 French cinema chain was unsurprisingly more popular than its rivals, with an attendance rate of over 100%. From a revenue standpoint, French companies also had a better year in 2021, although its EBITDA rose at a lower rate due to the post Covid-19 situation, increased marketing expenses and higher operating costs.

Music

French artists are generally highly respected, but they’re not always talked about. The world of French music can seem like a paradox, with its complex history and layers of eccentricities. There’s no doubt, however, that this is one fascinating genre to explore, especially if you have little to work with in the way of background knowledge. So don’t be afraid to dive right in; all you need is a touch of curiosity and a willingness to explore what French music has to offer.

For instance, French electronic music has a reputation for being poppier and more melodic than most of its counterparts in other European countries. Indeed, the plethora of French electro and house DJs just might make you think that France is the name to bring up when discussing dance music.

Although an independent label lacking support from major distribution channels, Nightbird has remained a powerhouse label which continues to release some of the hottest house and techno online.

Architecture

France is a country with a rich and diverse culture, which you will certainly not find in any other country. The art, the architecture, and literature in France often set trends for other nations. French art has been globally acknowledged from the 14th century onward, but let’s take one example from the 17th century; the architect Claude Perrault who designed the Louvre Palace. If you ever visit this palace you will see clear signs of French architecture there and learn that French architecture had many significant contributions to our understanding of how buildings should be proportioned or organized.
